Met Catfish1 at the Soddy Ramp this morning at daylight to give the crappie a try. I have been busy the last few days and didn't have a clue of where to look. We fished some docks with a little success but very slow then switched to trolling the edge of the river channel in 20-40 FOW and had some luck there too. It was very nice early but by noon the destroyers and chiggers were out in force so we tuffed 'em out 'till 1:00 and turned it over to them, emoAngry All fish caught today were either in deep water or only a few feet from deep water. Water temp was mostly 83* and there was very little current. We ended the day with 14 crappie, 2 spaaattts, 3 largemouth, 1 'gill, and 1 blue cat with 6 yellow bass as kickers, (one of the yellow bass was caught right in the top of the head on a crank bait, guess he was trying to knock it out of the water and it stung him, emoLaugh )
All in all it was a good day but only 8 crappie over 11 inches went home with me for the upcoming fish fry, emoSmile emoHungry emoTongue It did get hot around noon, emoSun
Also had a nice chat with fellow CFF'er Groomer1 who was also searching, emoSmile
