Just curious is freediving ,no air tank, just snorkle/mask wet suit, allowed in Utahs urban fishing locations? I'm interested in working out my fins and endurance but that is the closes and largest body of water that I could use well. Oh and is spearfishing for ONLY carp in them ok? I've heard mixed reports that spearfishing for carp is allowed in ANY fishing water. Do they count? Thanks guys

I have zero idea on the diving question, but on page 11 of the fishing guide book it says you can spear fish carp anywhere.

"At all waters open to angling—during
their open seasons—you can underwater
spearfish for carp."

So, I guess you can free dive/snorkel in the waters.

Many of the urban fishing ponds have no swimming signs posted as well as no boating of any kind including float tubes. I am not sure if that applies to all of them but I know it does apply to many...You may want to check before diving in.

You are correct.
May I also add that many Community Ponds are located within City limits where there are laws aginst discharging firearms within the limits.

You will want to contact the local community for regulations and laws.
I know that you can't swim, snorkle or use a spear at the Meadow Creek Pond in Roy.

You may also want to think about visability in urban waters. Everyone I have seen the vis is below 3'. You may as well tape your mask and practice night diving and navagation.
A not to long of drive to someplace like East Canyon or Tibble Fork may serve you better if spearing is allowed there.
You may end up forgoing any spearing and just work on your fins and endurance.
