First off, I'm pretty new to posting onthe BFT, but I have enjoyed viewing posts, info, and pics for quite sometime. I am planning on camping this Friday nite up in the unitas to get a way for a nite. We will be driving a car up there, I have been there once. But can anyone tell me of a good spot to camp up there that's easy for a car to access? Prettty please? Also that is fishing accessible. Thanks!

If you drive on the Mirror Lake highway, you'll drive past quite a few campgrounds nearly all of them are next to a lake. Two that come to mind are Mirror Lake campground and Butterfly Lake campground. Butterfly is kind of close to the road though, so you might have to deal with the sound of traffic.

Just to mention a few more... There is a campground between Teapot and Lilly Lakes. In that same area you'll find campgrounds at Trail Lake, Washington Lake, and Lost Lake. Near Bald Mountain Pass there is one at Moosehorn Lake. All of those places are on decent fishing lakes. But beware, showing up late on a Friday will not get you a camp spot. Reserve a site through the Forest Service for a sure bet.
Pssst, a secret... For those lakes with planters, rainbow sparkle powerbait fished 18 inches off the bottom will get you fish all day long.

If you don't want a campground you can turn into the Murdock Basin road and you might find an empty campsite before the road gets to rough for your car.
Another place to try is at Trial Lake. Turn off the Highway toward Trial Lake, but stay to the left go past the Washington Lake group site and it turns into a dirt road that is still usable by a car for a ways. Look for available campsites along that road.

Thanks for the help guys, are there any good spots that keep me on or by the upper provo? My goal for this trip is to get "out" away from from as many other campers as possible, while getting some decent fishing in. I know it might be a stretch considering we are taking a car, but if any of you know of such a location, your help is much appreciated!

With a little luck you may get a spot close to the river. For less company, fish down stream into Slate Gorge.
