I haven't fished the Logan in probably 40 years, but I still have many fond memories. We would often camp on the Logan on our way to or from Yellowstone National Park. I remember catching countless fish casting a clear bubble and a fly in some of the containment ponds.

Great report! I have caught a lot of fish at "First Dam" in years past doing just that! A good old fly and a bubble is a lot of fun. Thanks for the report!

There was a monster Brown pulled out of first dam this spring. I think it weighed in at 17 pounds, and was so fat it looked bent out of shape!

I'm new to fly-fishing, and that exact spot is one I've thought I should try. Also the inlet to second dam seems like a nice clear location for casting and an easy wade.

The three dams are fished pretty heavily. Lots of folks use salmon eggs, worms, and hamburger works well. I've used various spinners and other lures. Lots of planter 'bows, and some native browns. But there's sure lots of river in between, and some great river access as you get up by the Tony Grove turnout, and up to Beaver Mountain.

But if you do go wading up there - watch for Moose and Skunks! Never know what's going to surprise you at the next bend!

Haven't fished the Dams in years. Way too many people for my liking. Best fishing on that river IMO, is up around Red Banks and along that whole stretch. I've caught plenty of nice sized Cutts out of there over the years just using a standard Panther Martin.
