Whats up guys! sorry i havnt been on this week just started the job and been busy things will start to slow down for me here in the next week or so. so ive already been doing some fishing i went to a small pond last night that a co worker told me about he said it had a healthy large mouth population in it so i went to check it out after work. when i got there i was 
to see that it was full of moss and would be hard to fish with anything i normally fish with bass with.( i left all my weedless spinners in Idaho Falls and they wont be here for another couple weeks.) but i looked in my box and saw i had a #7 floating rapala in rainbow color so i thought what the heck ill give it a shot. i would cast it next to the edge of weed beds or just over opening in the weed bed and walk it across the top kind of like you would a popper( when the small mouth are spawning in IF i have caught quite a few this way) im not kidding very first cast a fish exploded on that rapala and i nailed him and easily got him to the bank. for the next 2 hours i literaly had a fish hit that rapala on every cast but i would miss the fish about every other time. i love top water fishing for large mouth its one of the most exciting ways to fish its like watching a small hand grenade go off under your lure. i probably ended up catching around 50 fish all averaging about 1lb but i did manage to get 2 that were right around 3 lbs and had one fish that would have went 5 lbs or better but i got to excited when i seen him hit and set the hook to early.(anyone who has ever fished topwater for bass knows you have to wait till you feel the fish to set the hook.) it was a good time and i needed some entertainment after the four days of work i just had.
ive also done a little smallmouth fishing on the snake by hellsgate caught a couple but they have all been small. i also caught a couple huge crappie out of the marina at hells gate with bass gear the other day.
i will be on more this week and back to moderating so i will keep you guys posted on my experiances.
