Fished Snadcreek WLM Ponds #4 & #1 Sunday morning with by son-in-law.We took our toones with us but the wind was blowing pretty hard early on so we fished from shore until things settled down a bit. We fished the larger of the Ponds, #4 first with a little luck we each landed 3 or 4 fish. Nothing real big. I was hoping to catch some brookies, but all we landed were what I believed to be banana trout. It;s the first time I've ever seen them but the were kinda neat. We moved around to Pond #1 and that's all we saw in that body of water was some very large schools of those banana trout the looked a lot like gold fish from a distance. We but our toones out and landed quite a few on small drys it was still alot of fun. I talked to a guy at Pond #1 and he thought they were Golden Trout, but I'm not sure. Theonly Golden Trout I've ever seen had alot more color on their fins.[fishon]

Nice report! sounds like fun. You're right about them being bananas. For some reason it makes me cringe when people call them goldens, somehow it just seems like a disrespect to the actual golden trout that you mentioned. Not that bananas aren't fun to catch, I just have goldens up on a pedistal for some reason [Smile].

The F&G got 5,000 bananas from the food industry hatcheries. They said they were releasing them at 5-7". Kind of small for this year, but next year they will be quite fun.

Bananas are a rainbow with a genetic anomoly. Golden Trout are totaly different.
