Hey guys, I'm thinking about taking the boat out Wed night. We normally launch @ hemmingway... Since I'm going at night, I'm curious if its still safe to launch there right now? I remember a few weeks ago, i could see bottom all the way out towards the tires, and there was a boyee for "rocks" just 12' away from the dock. Wouldn't wanna get caught up on rocks going out middle of night. any info appreciated, thanks

im not sure about the hemmingway harbor but 2 weeks ago or so at boulder harbor launch the gravel was exposed, no more pavement. and there was a truck that people could hire to launch their boats if they couldn't reach the water. so i dont know willy good luck though

Launched there over the weekend without any problem even though the water is low. We launched on the opposite side of the dock from the berm they have out there now. The depth drops pretty fast as you get to the tires.
Keep the motor up some to be on the safe side as you leave and enter and you should be fine.

thanks. launched with no problems. had to push trailer out a little more than usual. kept the engine up, but depth sounder did go off 1/2 way out toward the tires. scary out there now.

I launched at Boulder Harbor (20 foot Center Console) Yesterday without any trouble--other than trying to maneuver around 5K other boats:-). I watched a couple dudes with big boats and small vehicles struggle a bit because they had to back so far in due to the shallow grade of the launch.
