Took a friend and his son to Anderson Ranch yesterday. Once again, lots of action. Continual action at both 38 and 60 feet. Nice-sized fish, and a few are still quite bright. Fish and Game surveyed us on the lake, wanting to know if we would like to see lots of smaller fish, moderate amounts of medium-sized kokes, or fewer #'s of biggies. I opted for lots of very large fish!! They are not going to restrict spawning this year at the weir. If you are thinking about it, hurry. They are starting to show a little color, and the (very nice) surveyers said some fish are already in the river. A limit of 25 is very doable. Mike

i heard there is bass in anderson, is there any there. sounds like you had a great day

Definitely. Usually at least a couple of bass fishermen out there, but the majority of folks are kokanee fishing. Maybe one of the regular bass guys can weigh in with more info. It is a nice place to fish, not too crowded, and nice surroundings. Mike

I haven't been there for quite a few years. We use to have bass tournaments in the 80's and 90's there but by the end of the 90's bass fishing seemed to fall off.

The last couple of years there has been some clubs doing tourneys again and I have heard the bass fishing has improved. I just might have to give it a try again myself.

Not to crowded if you fish it on a Monday like Kodiak1 but it's a ZOO!! if you fish it on a weekend during the peak kokanee time. Years ago we stoped going to Anderson during the summer because it's over run with brainless waterskiers/recreational boaters that have no respect for people fishing. These clowns will pull a skier within 30 yards of you while your trolling and Smile and wave at you then get pissed off when you don't Smile and wave back LOL!! I just spent last Friday,Saturday & Sunday fishing the ZOO and let me just say if your retired and can fish during the week please do so because you'll have a lot more enjoyable outing.

the water skiers/ jet skiers is why i refuse to fish anderson, lucky peak, black canyon or lowell during the summer. i know i am missing out but can't stand the ignorant behavior on the lake or boat ramp ![mad]

I fished smallmouth at Anderson about 3-4 weeks ago and had no trouble catching fish. Nothing with a lot of size but still lots of fish. Mostly fished plastics off any of the rocky points or shorelines. There was definitely no shortage of bass.

Anderson is loaded with smb, some good ones too. They do get a little tough to catch though in the heat of summer. Rule of thumb is before Memorial weekend and after Labor Day.
