Finally got out to do a little crappie hunting today, emoCool Didn't get started 'till about 1 PM and stayed 'till 7PM. It was hot this afternoon while the sun was out. Water temps were between 88* & 90* so still pretty hot, emoRolleyes I did manage to find a few fish by fishing bluffs and docks while playing with my new locator, emoThumbsup I ended up with 22 crappie with about half over the 11" mark and had 4 over 13". I had, possibly, the biggest crappie that I have ever caught but didn't get him in the boat, emoAngry I wasn't keeping any fish today and wasn't too worried about gettin' 'em into the boat but when I saw how big this one was I was trying to let him back down into the water after lifting him out by the line, (I should have known that he was a monster when I couldn't lift him over the side with the little light rod that I was using, it just kept bending!) anyway when I started to let him back into the water so that I could reach the net, he gave a big flop and bent the hook emoScratch on a 1/32nd leadhead and I never saw him again, emoAngry Sure would like to have had a picture of him on the rule, I'm sure he was over 15 and also seemed over 2 lbs, emoEek Well maybe next time. I took some pictures but they are only crappie and none over 14 so haven't processed them yet to put 'em on here. You can call it a fish story if you wanna, emoBig Had fun and only fished about half the time I was out there, the rest of the time I was playin' and tryin' to learn my new locator, emoThumbsup Most fish were in at least 15 FOW and caught on a 10-15 count on a 32nd. Bleeding Shad with a little dip on his tail. Full moon is a comin', emoThumbsup Sure is a lot of bait fish on the surface right now, schools and herds of 'em Also some place are almost impossible to fish with light equip. because of all the floating grass, emoMad
