Seems like a while ago there was some talk of bank fishing for catfish by Burley bridge and other places. Could you help refresh my memory[:p][fishin]

IP planted that spot with tiny cats. I have no doubt that a person might get some there, not many. The south side looks like there might be a little access just below the bridge. Most of that land is all private. I have floated that section with tubes and toons. While it is possible and I have caught some there it is not "good" catfishing. I have spent a great deal of time researching and fishing milner. I have GPS locations where IP and F&G have done surveys. To be honest Milner is a complete waste of time. I would like to fish the upper end like the first 5 to 7 miles below Minadoka dam. I wonder if some of those cats don't go up there right at the beginning of summer. Some day I am going to try that upper end and if I don't catch them there I am never going back to milner again.
At this point from the Burley bridge down to the Dam is now an area I will never fish again.
From my house to the upper end is almost 80 miles. From my house to milner dam is over 50. Strike is about the same distance and salmon dam is closer. So going to milner for 3 to 4 inch bass and a 1 in a million chance at a cat is tough to justify.
I am trying to work a deal with IP to go on their survey this fall. I am trying to wiggle in as a F&G reservist. They are saying liability could be a problem. I have been told that F&G can ask for a representative. I am insisting on it.
I wrote another letter to Doug at the F&G office this morning. I want Crappie and cats to be a part of the Magic Valley fishing opportunity. I see that Derkies and dog cr were planted with cats last month. If you want more cats and crappie in our area PLEASE call the F&G office and ask for Doug Megargle 324-4359. Tell him Catfish and Crappie are important to you and let others know they should call too. I was able to talk him into a Derkies planting of cats instead of Carey lake. I am sure if enough people get behind cats and crappie something would get done. He will be getting my letter tomorrow. Ron
