I decided to try to get my boat in the water and check my motor (still didn't crank up for me). emoBang
My friends were already there fishing under the boat dock and had a good start on the crappie. I launched my boat and trolled over to see my friend Jack that lives there. We chatted for a bit then I started fishing about 2:30 this afternoon and ended around 5 PM.
I intended to try and fish some jigs around the boats while in my boat instead of walking inside the boat dock as usual. The wind and waves from ski boats were too much trouble and I couldn't control the boat well enough to try and shoot my jigs into the dark holes. Fed up with them idiot tubers, I went around the boat dock to bass fish. I fished shallow muddy water today, 2-7 ft and only caught 4 bass.
Started bass fishing using T-rig worm and Flipped and pitched a brushog to my brush piles around the docks walk way and along the bank. Had my first one on around 3:30, caught on a T-rig worm, it was a small one. It was in 2 1/2 FOW, but a good sign.
My second fish and largest by far was caught at 3:52. It was a nice fat 3.01 lb LM, shorter than normal for it's size. This one was in 3 FOW, hiding in the shade under the end a tree protruding out into the water. Flipped his butt using a brush hog. Did I mention this is my favorite fishing technique? lol T-rigged worm is 2nd fav.
I caught my 3rd bass, another small one on T-rigged worm, It was beside a lone post well out away from the bank in 6 FOW with no brush, grass or rocks.

After working a few more trees; I crossed to the other side of the bay and caught my last small bass on T-rig worm near rocks and a submerged tree trunk.
Around 4:15 my friend Mike (fishing under the boathouse) called and wanted to show me thier fish. I told him I'd be there after hitting two more places.
I made my way to the first tree stump and flipped my hog around it and then into the shade side and it moved off. Bad luck takes over here. The wind and waves had moved my little boat as I fought to keep my boat straight. That was enough to put slack into my line while setting the hook. Came up empty handed and mad as ever!!! emoHoppingmad I dropped my hog around the stump a few more times just incase with no strikes.
Off to second spot about 25 yards away. Same location I lost a nice bass the last time here. emoLaugh Low and behold!!!!! I pitched my hog to it and dropped the rod tip some. wind was harder now and blowing me backward. My bait was moving and hard to tell which way. I'm going back and my line going out! WTH. Oh emoBadLanguage fishing taking my hog away from me. Swing and a miss here too, bass took my hog and I got nothing. That was it, and I headed back to the dock. A long way to go with just my trolling motor. lol
I learned something today. I got in a hurry to finish up my day to get back to the dock and rushed while controlling my boat and placement of my lure to the target. Next time I'll slow down, stay just down wind and softly lower my anchor. Then put my lure into the target.
