Great dry fly action tonight. Put in at byington and went up and fished the side channels bellow the rest area and the flats a mile above that. Great hatches coming off, caddis were decent and the mayfly hatch was great. Prob a dozen fish to hand in 2 hours. All were pulled in on BWO patterns. Old man was throwing caddis and was turning about half as many fish but was missing em ( forgot his eyeglasses at home) .

Water temps seemed cool for this time of the year, fishing should stay good as long as they stop messing with the water flows.

Also the river in IF looks low cause they are doing hydro work below broadway bridge and have all the gates opened so it doesnt back up behind the falls. Might be a good time to go drag some streamers and try and coax some of the lunkers up there out.

Headed to birch, little lost, and meadow lake in the next 3 days. Camping at Kaufman for a few days. See if there are still some willing brookies up that way Wink

I am sure there are some willing brookies at Birch creek.

You would think living only a few miles from the SF I could get over there and catch some on dries, but it seems like I always miss the really good hatches. Guess I need to go more.
