I don't want to hijack the previous thread about Oneida draining but I was thinking about camping there for Labor Day weekend. I have never camped there before and was just there for a few hours once and always wanted to fish and camp there. The reports of it's draining has now got me concerned it could be a waste of time as far as catching fish. Does anyone have any advice on this? Anywhere in the Preston area with good camping on one of the lakes. Also it seemed to me that to drive into Oneida from the Clevland side with a 20' camper trailer would be ok even tho the road is a bit narrow. Any input on that. Thank you.

Don't let the drainage part scare u off unless ur in a boat. Fishing for eye in the AM before 11 is good least for me. Camping is $5 for vehicle not for sight. Cleveland down would work just lots of pot holes n rocks you gotta look for. If fishing at night bank fishing is working for walleyes.

If you read all the threads on the oneida post you will notice that they are only draining it 15 feet. This should not be a huge deal since it is such a deep reservoir. I have not fished it much, but I thought I remember quite a few spots over 100 feet down by the dam.

You should be fine with your trailer as well.
