Toying with the idea of heading up to Chesterfield this weekend, but would like to hear a recent report before I decide. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. PM me if you need to.

I guess I'll have to answer my own post. I went up on Friday. Fishing was slow to say the least. I ended up with around a dozen, the biggest going about 20". The average was probably about 17". I did best on any fly that had some black in it. 12 - 16' seemed to be the best for me. Nice day and not too many people.

Thanks for letting us know.

It may have been slow for you, but it still sounded like a good trip.

I just haven't gotten on the lakes lately.

C, we just bought a new trailer and Monday a Holiday, we are heading to "D" Sunday for an overniter.

I will probably be gone, but have a good time, and leave a few fish without sore lips!

I need to get out to some of the lakes more. Summer always seems to draw me off to the mountains.

I hope that you have better weather and less wind than we had at Chesterfield in July!

Sounds like a very good trip actually - I would really like to know where you fish if a 12 fish day made up of 12 to 20 inchers is considered a slow day. In my humble world, a slow day means skunk to 3 and I have to work the water hard to get the 3. Keep the tippets wet!

Thanks for answering your own post. I am always interested in Chesterfield, but haven't made it down there in a while.

Wasn't too many years ago I had some 40-60 fish mornings with the average fish in the 18-19" range and several going over 20 & up to 26".

Absolutely, same with Daniels, but what the heck, some actually like the taste of trout...LOL (I am kidding)
