Against my better judgment, I went out today for 3 hours in the middle of the day to crappie fish. If the South had had as many ships as there were on Chickamauga today, the Yanks would have been defeated. emoPoke

Brisk wind, huge rollers from destroyers, cruisers, and battleships made it dicey out there today. It wasn't even safe behind docks today. Labor day indeed. I saw water chiggers come within 20 yards of me, runabouts pulling floats with kids on them came within 30 yards of docks that I was fishing and a couple of other brave fishermen besides me trying their best not to get washed upon the docks by the huge waves that were being generated by the boats and the wind. I was banged into one dock so hard that I was worried that the dock might be damaged. Didn't hurt my tracker at all.

I finally ran into a cove and hoping that it was safe. It was safe. I caught 13 crappie (10 nice keepers to 13.75 inches), 2 spotted bass, 2 bluegills, and 1 drum that checked in at 4.0 lbs. I gave the crappie to my brother-in-law and after making this report, I am thinking about taking a nap.

I'll be back out there tomorrow and all these people had better be back to work. emoGeezer
