Took the afternoon off to start the holiday weekend early. Sadly my first time on the Chick since this spring/early summer. Started out spooning and couldn't keep the yellow bass off, must have caught 20 of them and a small drum. Finally broke out the dropshot rig and caught one about 3.5lbs right off the bat. Moved around a bit, the wind was making it tough but finally found a stretch somewhat protected and kept dragging the dropshot around, found the spot motherload and boated around a dozen up to 2 pounds, all around 17-19 feet. Moved out deeper around 24 to 26ft and started finding the largemouth, another about 2.5lbs and a slob that was 5.7lbs. Didn't have the camera so attempted a couple of phone pics, didn't do too well. Also got one little blue cat on the dropshot. Variety of baits used, gulp minnows (I hate those stinky, slimy, overpriced things), bass assasin minnows, and several different dropshot worms, didn't seem to matter too much.
