looking for some tips to getting some bass out of clock tower. I have accesability to a floattube and was thinking of just using a deeper crank bait. But does anyone know were the bass hangout at during this time of the year in the pond? all help will be appreciated.

With this cooldown they will put on the feedbag. Look to the shallows in the morning and even through mid day, and fish plastics along the 4 to 8 foot edges.

okay, the whater has gone up since the summer, but i'm pretty sure i remember about were the first drop off is. i'll try using a smaller crank along this or a spinner, or maybe pull some carolina rigs along it.

i think the pond you are refering to used to be called bob rice pond. the two ponds behind it are much better for bass. they used to be gravel pits named chassi swan. bob rice or clocktower used to have HOGS in it in the seventies and eighties when i was a teen ager fishing there all the time. now they are fished out. but a few bass remain. jerkbaits like a 5" or so rebel or rapalla minnow in the evenings, or a larew crawdad or motor oil worm on a 1/8 oz weight works well as well. but the carolina rigs should work well. be sure to try the other ponds . they can also be accessed from rose street off of state! i went fishing there for old times sake this spring and caught 3 3pounders on chartruce spinnerbaits and 6" motor oil worms.
if you can find access lake harbor pond has some whoppers too !

I used to lug my Creek Company donut float tube from the Black Angus parking lot to the Bob Rice pond in the 80's & early 90's and caught some big bass, mostly on plastic worms & grubs. I never saw anybody else fishing it. It got ruined when they built the Clocktower apartment project and it will never be the same because of the new waterpark and 30th street extension going in. Like hula, I have some great memories of that place but I'd focus on other waters if I were you. If you use a float tube or toon in these local ponds you can fish a lot of water the bankies can't reach....especially the brushy stuff.

the last time we went fishing people on the boise had caught a 20inch bow, it was sorta funny because it was a girl that caught it and it was her first time fishing, we weren't even setup yet and she was already telling us about her "begginers luck"
But on the subject, i've fished mcdevit, clocktower and the larger pond upstream of it, (veterans pond?) but were are these other ponds you guys are talking about, i just need some good spots to hit when my dad doesn't want to make a trip out of town.

went down to clocktower on saturday with my float tube. I started off by using a crankbait that dove around 10ft and got nothing, not to much suprise but it was mostly just to search around until i padled to were i was aiming at fishing at. When i got there is switched to my texas rig salamander, and just dropped it and would jig it up, i was getting quite a few smaller hits, i think they were smaller fish trying to eat it, then i got one big hit but didn't have enough time to set the hook. After fishing for a while more with hits everyonce in a while i switched to a jig and fished my way back. Standing by the steps that lead to the water i was getting small hits again but i ran out of time so i didn't get to switch to a smaller jig, but i talked to a guy that does scuba classes and he told me he sees a lot of smallies were i was fishing, and bluegills by the stairs, but more intresting he told me about a ridge line were there always were trout. next time i go i'll probably try and fine the ridge and drop a worm down there.
