Had the pleasure of crappie fishing with two great guys today. We got on the water around 7:15 and started shooting some docks in the back of the creek. Did not really have luck there. We moved to some river docks and found fish...the bite was not fast but the fish where quality fish. BG shads where the bait of choice..did not seem to matter what color as long as you had a tail light. I did get my first official TARP crappie...it was 15" and weighed 1.7lb...I had laid the rod down and was helping Jim get a 13.5 in the boat....Bill told me to watch my rod because it looked like I had a fish...after I got in Jim's fish..I grabbed my rod to find a monster Crappie on the other end...did not even have to set the hook...LOL....this was Bill's first dock shooting trip and he picked it up like a pro...This was the first time i had crappie fished since the MCA tourney me and DK fished...I remember why crappie fishing it so FUN....Great morning!!!
