I took the afternoon off and picked up my middle son and headed for the hills for a little afternoon fishing with a good old fly and a bubble. Between the two of us we hooked and released more than 35 of these planter bows. All were around 12" and it made a fun afternoon on a beautiful little lake in the hills east of Logan.

Always fun to get the boy(z) out for some tugs. Glad the action was busy for ya. Were you along the river, or at one of the dams?
I've been so busy chasing around lakes, haven't spent much time on the Logan this year. Stopped by first dam a few times in spring.
I have been meaning to try that fly-bobber deal forever! I got some "pistol petes" I think they are - a spinner and fly. Thought those should rock. Tried drifting them off the bridge, but the fish there are so wary... no luck for me. See folks along the shore at first dam all the time pitching those out.
Any particular type of fly pattern working for ya, or do they have the fall feed bags strapped on?
Thanks for the post and pix. I should drag my son up after his guitar class - the canyon's calling! Won't be long before fall colors start up there! Can't beat that.

Thanks for the post. My sons are all adults now but they still love to go fishing. Last weekend they went to White Pine Lake and got a few brookies. I sent you a PM with more details on where and what. If you go I hope you have a good time and get into some fish.
