Hit the middle below Midway, water is still way up, what's going on with the flows this year? Water still off color. Coaxed a few to the net, caught a couple on streamers and the rest nymphing, couldn't raise anything on top. Best bugs were PT Emerger, Barr Emerger and Green Serendipity. A few caddis came off as well as some mayflies but the fish just didn't want to take anything on the surface.

My buddy hit the middle provo last night and said there was a great hatch about 30 min before dark and they caught a ton on top. Some big Browns too.

Got out to the middle Provo this morning---hate to admit it but that was my first time on the Middle section-- won't be my last.
Got to the parking area at 6:30--still too dark to fish (for me anyway), but by 7 was on the water with enough light. I fished dries all morning--caught 3 before sunrise (about 8am), another 5 by 10. Biggest wasn't huge--caught a couple at around 14-15", a couple really small 5-6"ers and the rest in between. Had several more takes that I missed--it wasn't smoking hot fishing on top, but a few casts to a typical feeding lane would usually get a rise or two.
Fished a few different caddis patterns in tan and olive, had my best luck on a darker Wilcox's AC Caddis:

Because I've never fished it before I don't know whether the crowds were heavy or light--the parking area was very full when I left, but I fished from the parking area up stream maybe a 1/2 mile and felt I had plenty of river all to myself (until right before I left when a guy throwing a huge spinner started fishing the same hole from the other side--I caught the fish that was rising and hit the road).
