Finally took the boat out for the first time this year on saturday evening. We did some fishing for a bit started out at 6ft lots of fish no biters till we got into the 3ft area. The Mrs caught her first fish of the year on her first cast withing 2 seconds and it was non stop for white bass.Thats all we wee catching so i anchored up and put a spinner on her rod and it was on! Every cast brought a WB .I didnt even try fishing since i was the one that was going to clean and cook those tasty buggers. On sunday i decided to go back with my daughter and fish the benjamin slough area. The wind wasnt that bad and i figured we could et a least a couple of hours in before it got bad.We drift fished starting at 6ft all the way to 2ft.My daughter caught her first kitty of the year.Me and my son had lots of hits but no takers as TD would say stupid fish![:p] This kitty hit hard and fought hard made Sams day and mine.I love seeing the kids catching fish even if i dont. Right after she caught her kitty the wind started blowing hard and it was time to go.It was good to get out this weekend even if it was only for a few hours.

nice report. always fun when you can take the kids out and get into some fish. i was hoping to get into some whites the other day when i went, but came back with the old familiar smell of skunk on me. kinda hard to get into the whites without a boat to go find them. was hoping to get into them soon before ice on, but alas i may not.. oh well, thats how it goes

Sounds like a fun outing. Glad you got on 'em. UL seems to be a good destination this time of year. White bass and fat cats a plenty!

Got a BFT sticker on back of the boat but not very visible.I have tan crestliner and it was the boat that had a frantic woman running to the car trying to get away from the skeeters.[:p]

Bait fishing when the WB are biting not very good for me. [pirate] Thats why i switched to spinner easier to keep them catching fish non stop . [
] Also easier to remove fish from lure than having hooks deep in their throats.

[#0000ff]A lot of those pop and drops are the white bass. They don't read the labels on the bait letting them know it is not for them.[/#0000ff]
