Went to Currant Creek yesterday with a few friends. Fished from the damn from about 7:30 until 2pm. Fishing was really slow. The water level has come down a lot recently so there is a lot of exposed shrubbery and moss. This made it pretty much impossible to use any type of action lures. We caught 8 fish total all of which were tiger trouts. We had the best luck off worms but we also got a few with powerbait. The road up from US 40 is a lot more enjoyable now that they have about 3/4 of it paved.

Thanks for posting your report and picture Josh. I did not know they had started paving the road up to CC. How far below the Dam does the pavement stop?

Wiperhunter2,

Its hard to say but I would estimate maybe a mile or so before the damn. I know last time I went up there in June they only had the first half up paved. The dirt road had some pretty bad washboarding going on so I was pretty happy to see it paved. You would have no problem taking a car up there.

The road is paved to the hunting lodge.

I hope they pave it all the way to the lake!

Love Current creek ,But riding in 3/4ton truck (extra leaf springs added) and dragging my boat on the wash board road is no fun

I hope they keep it gravel that keeps alot of people out of there. some days you can have the hole lake to yourself. Kind of nice.

The fact that it's more than a 30min drive from SLC keeps it from being crowded, lol

That is a pretty spotty lil fish. Thanks for the post. Nice spots!

Speakin of washboard roads - won't be long till Porcupine is opened back up to the Kokes. Do you think they'd be biting after the spawn Kurt? Or do they shutdown till ice time?

I'd expect the browns should be strapping on the fall feeding bag like many of the other regions' trout I keep hearing about.
