For pineview i like to throw big j-13 rapalas as well as the jointed bomber cranks in various patterns. I have also done well on spinnerbaits and believe or not on 3.5" white tube jigs!Another musky standby is the mepps musky killer and other musky spinners.
I am headed to pineview tonight to chase some panfish and bass and might throw for some musky!

[#804000]I tie a leech pattern fly, where one hook is attached to another to make a 3 inch leech ....... They seem to like that, and I don't even fish for them.[/#804000]

Sounds awesome, do you have a picture? also are you catching them on a fly rod, or a spinning rod?

[#804000]Spinning, but I suppose you could use a fly rod......Should be rather heavy though, with a strong leader, if you are interested in landing them.[/#804000]

i use crankbait perch colored lures, i tried spinnerbaits never caught muskies on them but a few followers. i also use small curly tails 1/2 an inch and bigger. but you can never go wrong with the crankbaits.. i have caught all my muskies from shore. just got to find the right place..

Been fishing the view about twice a week, fishing gas been ok for bass, we have caught some real nice smallies and lmbs. Also it seems to be hot for the micro muskies that were stocked last yr. Me and my lill lady fished it last night and caught a bunch of bass butt no big ones. Looks to me that they are starting to head out for the deeper water. I wil be hitting the view sunday and monday again chasing tigers and some bassies. I will be throwing tubes and various top waters and dragging a j13 behind my boat...
Good luck bro

My favorite is marabou streamer fly. I use a 10 wt. rod w/ a pike line, and usually out catch hardware throwers. Just tie 2 white (or yellow, orange or black) feathers, flared outward over 2 flared red feathers. Add some pearl flashabou on top, extending 2" past the wings. Either use a weedguard, or tie point up for weedlessness. I use dumbbell eyes w/stick-on pupils. I've taken 20 pike on a fly, but they are great for musky (45 incher). Even if chewed up, with a missing feather or 2, it still takes fish. 2/0 or 3/0 hooks are fine (Mustad 34007). The book, "Toothy Critters Love Flies" (Amazon), tells you all you need to know, including detailed fly recipes
