Fished Willard Friday afternoon from 5pm until dark. Trollled along the southern dike for an hour with no bites so we headed to the feedlot and fished to the north. Had one fish on for about 30 seconds then it got off. No other bites after that. I spoke with a number of guys who also came up empty handed. My average trolling speed was 2.5 mph in the feedlot area and 2.0 along the south dike. Great evening out and actually not too many bugs.

My buddy and I were out there too, and experienced the same thing. We saw a couple of rollers on the surface, and that was it. I think those T-Storms we had the other day out them down [:/] Fred K.

I'm thinking we need to figure out a new battle plan for Willard Wipers.

I fished the bay Friday night and tonight (Saturday). We landed 4 fat wipers all ibetween 20 and 21 inches Friday and 2 of their twins this evening. We also landed 7 more last weekend and almost all trolling after dark and only one off of a boil. My 1st catching them so late. I usually jet at dark 30 just after trying to find boils, but the last two weeks we have been trolling till 10 or 11 pm and doing ok. At least no skunk.

What were you trolling with? This was my first time back to Willard in three years, I was using Shad raps and chrome rattle traps. Thanks...

Same thing.... silver and blue rattle traps in 12 feet of water. Lead core trolling line out 80 feet which is about 10 feet down with our setups and speed.
