i have heard of fish being caught as far up as oriphino right now. i dont know if this is true but my buddy in Kamiah told me this today. ill be starting to steelhead more now that elk season was a bust for me this year. ill keep you guys posted.

there might be a few around the southfork but for the most part ppl dont start catching them with any consistancy until mid oct.

They are just starting to show down around Whitebird, so you might want to wait a bit.

We fished below the Middle Fork last weekend between there and Corn creek and didn't even have a bite with our Steelhead gear. This warmer weather is really keeping the fish down river. They will not move up river with the water temps in the 60's. I have lived in Salmon for a month now and have caught a lot of fish, but have not seen or heard about any Seelhead from Corncreek up yet. I talked to a lady that shuttles last Friday and she said they were starting to get a few fish below Corncreek in the boats, but nothing much really. 2 more weeks and/or the first good cold spell and the fish will start coming.

Living right in town. Only a little drive to the bridge. We are loving it up here. Just wish the fish would cooperate and move into this neck of the woods. I can't wait.
