Hit Hyrum on Saturday in search of my elusive lunker. Got to the lake around 1:30 and pitched a Yum dinger around the car bodies for a while. Picked up a few smaller bass, biggest probably 13. I decided to try fishing a little deeper so I put on a bluegill DT rapala. I walked a ways down the bank and found a log submerged about 20 feet out. First cast to where I thought the base of the sunken tree was and BAM! Nothin like having a freight trian on the end of your line. Took me all summer but I finally did it, thanks for making a little room in the 20 inch club Ninja!

Nice fish congrads. Do wiper count for the club?

That's a different club. Bass nevertheless, but I'd say the dimensions might differ.

I was gonna ask how much it weighed, but was gonna guess around 5. Just heard of a 6 pound trout coming out of them waters. We hit a bunch of planter bows, some perch, but nothing in the bass department. Seemed like some decent ones under the dock and the cop-boat.

Thanks for the info. Nice details - just told a kid at McDs about the cars. He said he pulled a 3lber out between the dam and the campground the other day. On a worm.
Sadly no, I think getting a 20 inch largie is a bit tougher than a 20 inch wiper. We would have to set the bar for wiper at about 30.

I didn't have the weigher with me just a tape but I think he was pushing five or more. He was super fat. Probably full of the tiger trout that the state dumped in there that morning. If they keep feeding them like that next year ought to be even better

Maybe start a Wiper club, but gotta be lower than 30" seeing how the state record is only 26". Maybe start at 24".

Good to see you still have skillz!! That is a sweet fish, maybe we should go again after the muzzleloader hunt gets over. Oh Ya did you see my tinny BULL [Wink]

We need to head to the big blue for another huge Laker.
Um I hate to tell you this but those pictures are not fish!!

BUT, holy S - HIT batman what an awesome bull! [Wink]

Were you in Utah, or out of state on that one?

I saw something tiny but it sure as heck wasn't that bull! Don't trade the rod on your musket for your buzz just yet, the fishin is just getting good.

It was a Utah bull taken on a CWMU tag. I think I drew the tag of the century.

Here's an Idaho Bull for comparison.

Aren't we coming up on the Hardware Ranch Elk Festival? Maybe stop along Blacksmith Fork for a few casts at browns on the way up.
