I hiked up to one of my favorite close catch and release spots yesterday, Lower Bells to find it EMPTY!

No fish, small puddle of water. How the can the DWR and water regulation guys have the power to allow fishing holes to dry up? Its murder and complete BS!

I was up there last week and it was waaayyy low.Fish were hitting in to each other.

Caught a few nice ones (16"-18")

That is total crap to kill those fish off like that

The more I think about,

did you actually fish it?

It's very very low,

but once the water level get's below the drain(concrete block) it can't drain anymore.

It was right at the drain when I was there. And the fish are still in there. But I wonder if there is going to be enough oxygen to sustain them. The river is a trickle coming in...

Just hike up to the upper res....[Tongue]

Just kidding, it is a far hike.

But for the record I have seen the lower completely dry. So at least they stock it each year or some of the fish make it down during the spring run off. I have caught some nice cutthroat at times.
