On the 28th I thought I'd try Pineview after giving up on it for more than a year. Fished from my tube all day 10 - 2 pm and caught 1 dink.[:/] Water, way low. Decided to check out another area. Only took my rod and the lure that was still on it, and hiked along the shore line. Got to the shallows between an island and shore and saw a bunch of carp. Tossed my lure thinking, who knows, maybe I could tussle with a carp which is what I did. Tossed my lure out amongst em and several seemed to go under to follow my lure, Next thing I knew, I had a hook up. Well, thought I was in for some fun wih the "carp", but it came out of the water and didn't look right???? Well, I had a big ol smallie on and it scared me to death with it's size. Also what scared me just as much, was there were other big guys following. Since I was shore fishing, thought It'd be best to wade in and make sure I landed this lunker.. Well, I did but was I lucky, or what??? She measured 19 3/4 in. but when I went to unhook her on the shore I noticed my line had separated from my hook?????? Wow, what Luck!. Then I found that the hook was in her mouth with the smallest skin material possible and I just lifted the hook out of her mouth. Wow, with that kind of luck, decided to count my blessings and go home, besides the wind was kicking up and I was on the shore. Here's a pic. of her.

Well, I went back today to try that same area with my tube and ended up with 3 hogs from 17 1/2 to 19 1/2 in. along with about 4 more smaller ones. WOW. I have never, never caught this big smallies at Pineview. [shocked] Here's a pic. of the 3. All were released healthy. Had kept em a fish basket to keep em healthy until I got to shore to take this pic.. To say the least, the Pine is back for me. Man, do they fight. Each time I thought I might have accidentally hooked a big ol Tiger Musky. []
