If you are looking for a good fishing trip for the kids, Warm Lake is a sure-bet for a limit of planter-sized trout, with some holdovers running somewhat larger. Doubles were the order of the day for Kali and I today, trolling on the surface with lightweight pop gear and a wedding ring. It's beautiful up there now. Saw a bank fisherman casting just west of the North Shore Lodge on the point, and he was also connecting. Mike

Thanks for letting us know. Getting kids into fish is the most important thing in my opinion.

Where is Warm Lake at?

Go to Cascade; turn east at the Catholic church; travel 25 miles to Warm Lake. Never drops--always full and easy to launch boat; great docks and ramp. Crystal clear water. Rainbows and macs. Mike

Forgot the best part: paved all the way!!

There are gazillions of brookies at the south end in the lily pads.

Thanks for the report. According to the rules it appears as though its a 2 rainbow limit there? and 25 on the brookies.
Am I reading that right?
How are the weeds? Heavy, light?
Side note: don't suppose you stopped by Horsethief and have any info there?
Thanks!

The limit on rainbows is 6. Are you looking at the map in the F & G booklet? The blue section showing a limit of two area is north of Warm Lake. The lake is crystal clear, with no weeds except for the lily pads on the southern and eastern edges. If you are trolling, there are submerged lily pads before you get to the ones on top. Other than that, nothing. Very comparable to the sterile waters of Payette Lake. Mike
