I'm in the market for a portable motorized boat that can be easily transported and will allow me to squeeze into tight fishing spots. I found a company called Saturn Inflatable Boats that produces a hybrid kayak/inflatable boat. "KaBoat" Anyone own one of these? Any recommendations?

I am not real fond of inflatables boats, Personal toons and float tubes are ok in my book.
Dont get me wrong, the Kaboat may be a perfectly safe boat to use, and I have used the inflatable round rubber ones years ago and thought they were great untill I had a muskrat bump me in the rump.[shocked]
ever since then I always think I was just one muskrat bite from getting wet and loosing all my fishing gear.
from the looks of that boat, it looks like it would be a job inflating, even with a cigarett lighter pump.
I dont know how the time issue is for you, but when I get to the water, I like to get in to it as soon as I can.
I suggest before you buy something like that you look in to other options. 8foot Jon boats, aluminum, weights 30 pounds, mounts on the roof of even the smallest cars like a canoe and you can get them fairly inexpencive used.
why I suggest a short jon boat is when in tight spots there are always water hazzards in narrow streams, sharp rocks jagged branches above and below water, semi submerged dock boards with nails. A lot of the streams around me are shallow and have broken glass.
so if any of the places you are going are shallow you may want to concider another option.
If you like Kiacs they do make inexpencive plastic ones.
the Kaboat reminded me of a flat back canoe I used to own. plenty stable for a 5 horse motor, "I dont know about todays 4 stroke motors"
If your looking to put a motor or electric motor on that Kaboat, make sure you visit a showroom floor modle befor concidering it. look at the transom and floor around the back of the boat to make sure it is built of the kind of material that will allow it to hold up a twelve volt batery for years to come.
