When we were coming back from Warm Lake two days ago, I decided to swing by the city ramp at Lake Cascade to see if I could get my boat in later in the week. A nice fellow from California was struggling trying to get his boat into the ramp. As he was heading in from the lake, he watched a guy in a pickup with a boat and trailer back in to the only accessible portion of the ramp, get out, lock his truck, climb down the trailer, get in the boat and take off!! Heading out to fish!! The Californian was just way too nice. There were several car/trailer rigs in the parking lot, so they would also have to deal with this. Could this just be stupidity? I thinik not. I would bet he just doesn't care. If it had been me, I would have struggled to not let the air out of one of his rear partially submerged tires or something else. I hope I would have gained my wits about me, but I would give the local police a call. He's got to be breaking some law!? Mike

In most states it's considered illegal parking to block a boat ramp, same as if they were obstructing someone's driveway. If I went to a launch and found it blocked by someone's vehicle, I'd be calling the cops to send a tow truck to haul it out of the way.

Reminds me of a story about some guys 4 wheeling out in a farmers field in the mud. When they got stuck the farmer came out with his tractor, hooked a chain up, romped on the gas and tore the truck off its frame, leaving the tires and axles where they were. Dragged the truck the the edge of his property, unhooked the chain and said don't come back.
May not have really happened, but you sure hope it did. Maybe someone should have pushed this guys truck down into the lake.

I had the same thing happen when I launched at Lincoln Beach at Utah Lake a few years ago. I couldn't believe the guy was so rude to just park his rig right on the ramp. There was just enough room to back another trailer down the ramp, but just barely.

I don't think I would be pulling. Most likely I would be pushing!

It would be great to get even, but in this day and age the only one that would get caught would be the guy pulling the truck away. If this happens again get the law and a tow truck involved and then the jerk who put it there is financially responsible for the whole thing. maybe then he will think twice about doing it again.

While visiting Henry's at the County boat launch, two local Pontooners decided to come in for a bite to eat and restroom visit (about 45 minutes to an hour).
It was around noon and several decided to come in before the wind kicked in.
Well these two decided to park ON THE RAMP, not off the side. Great part of this story, there was a cop there checking for stickers and life vests....he stayed there for awhile and had to of noticed this and people struggling around these two pontoons.
Oh, and both pontoons had motors but no licenses which means no invasive species sticker. One bigger boat did get sited for not having something or other, so the cop DID do something[crazy]

And to think I was complaining about a sailboat at CJ on Saturday. The guy was launching all by himself,. Had nothing ready, including his dock lines. I waited a good 20minutes for him to get out of the way. At least he did drag his boat to the end of the dock to make room.
It never ceases to amaze me, the problems people have loading and unloading their boats. They should have some sort of mandatory training
Last month at CJ, a jetski hit a boat and poked a nice hole into the side of the boat
