Capt. Rob Blake's fishing report from Florida's Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River-updated November 13th, 2001.<br><br>Fall and Winter months are full of adverse weather fronts, and often torrential rain. Being on the water between the fronts is certainly an enjoyable experience, as was the past few days. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the wind gods 
d on Mosquito Lagoon.<br><br>On Friday, Mike Fessollini from Atlantic Beach, Florida got an eyeful of schooling reds. Despite seeing several schools of over 50+ fish, his fly was only inhaled twice by oversized redfish. Mike picked up a juvenile flounder and several small trout as well. <br><br>Saturday was probably the best weather day we've had in months. Absolute zero wind all day long, sunny skies and 78 degrees. Darryl Hemminger of Boca Raton, Florida had shots at hundreds of schooled up redfish early on. His first cast yielded a 9 ½ pound redfish that was tailing in a foot of water. His next catch didn't happen for a while later as the fish began to spook very easily. By the end of the day, Darryl had sightcasted live shrimp to countless redfish, hooked 6, and landed 5. His last fish of the day was a beautiful 23 spotter, which we tagged and released. Good job Darryl!<br><br>Sunday was jus as sunny, but with just a slight breeze. Again, the sightcasting began to schools of reds that were obviously becoming more and more cautious as the day went on. In the end, we tagged and released t five over-the-slot redfish.<br><br>Monday…signs of another front approaching… the wind began again…and the sun faded away. Despite the adversity, Bruce Young, President of Laser Fishing Lure Corporation based in Meritt Island, Florida wanted to field test some exciting new technology that consumers will be seeing in the near future. Without getting very specific, we tested the lure for a couple of hours and came up with redfish and trout…to include a 7-½ pound gator that was sitting in mere inches of water. Bruce plans on further testing and refinements, to include the introduction of an entire line of Laser Fishing Lures.<br><br>Sightcasting to reds and trout can test your patience. Whether it's a fly, soft plastic, or live shrimp, the act of actually hunting the fish and presenting your bait to watch the fish eat is beyond compare to any other type of fishing. <br><br><br><br>Capt.
