I fished Willard for an hour this evening. There was some nice boil action to enjoy. I got there at about 6:00 and fished till 7:00. There were lots of boils, birds, and boats just outside the channel to the south marina. Then the birds just left and the boils kept going. Normally it's the other way around. The boils slowly moved north to the feed lot area. I couldn't get a bite at all on a top water Sammie. So I switched to a 3/8 oz. blue/silver Kastmaster and that was the trick. Nailed 2 in two casts. There was a lul in the boils so I decided to troll around where the boils had been and got one more.
Then, a storm with lightening started coming our way ... I'm out-o-here!
There were plenty of wipers being filleted by folks at the cleaning station and my fillets will be enjoyed for dinner tomorrow.
It sure was good to see those old familiar wiper boils again ... did my heart good.
