Left to Hells Canyon damn on Friday to fish of the base of the dam.
Three friends and i went down on those stairs of death and fished of this little bank. I've never seen that many fish jumping around. Every few seconds i saw a steelhead jumping but the frustrating part is that they don't bite.
We were bobber fishing and tried all sorts of different colors of yarns, shrimps, jigs, and plugs. 10 hours of fishing later, the four of us caught 4 fish. I also saw one salmon getting caught. The boats that were trolling and fishing were slaying them.
On saturday, we left to Riggins to fish the little salmon, only caught 1 steelhead, 1 rainbow trout and a bull trout, which was kind of nice but the steelhead there was slow. I think it might be still too early for up there but if you know something that i dont about steelheads, i'd highly recommend taking a day trip to hells canyon.
