We had an excellent turnout for the Operation One Voice Tournament this past weekend on Lanier. The organizers of this tournament have a special soft spot in their hearts for returning special-forces troops that are adjusting to life back home. Many thanks to all the competitors who turned out for this event.

Fishing was awesome as there were six fish over 5lbs brought to the scales and it took 21.81 to win. Second place was 20.27. The winning team of Joey Nichols and Donnie Jones caught fish on rocky points with shaky head worms and jigs. These points also had brush nearby and access to deep water. Most of their fish were caught on the south end of the lake. They were kind enough to give us an interview on camera (see link to video below) and you can tell they know their stuff.

Don’t worry too much about spooking fish these days. EZ Spin has actually gotten fond of cutting a few doughnuts around the spot before he starts fishing and in our interview Joey Nichols hinted, “It seemed like you had to agitate themâ€. I probably should have pushed Joey for a few more details but if you listen closely you can read between the lines.

Here is the video streaming from YouTube. Quick tip: YouTube videos always play better/smoother the 2nd time after they have had a chance to cache. It contains music so be careful if you’re sitting in a cubicle at work. You’ll probably enjoy this best if you view it from home. There are a few scenes that made their way into the video while Eric was holding the camera and I couldn’t bring myself to cut them out. Enjoy!

If we caught you on camera with your fish please feel free to contact me if you would like me to send you any of the still pictures.

God bless!
Rich@laniermapped.com

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQzazezwrZM
