I took this beautiful bull with my muzzeloader on Friday (Nov. 5, 2010) off of the South Slope Uintas on the general muzzeloader elk hunt. Needless to say, I was very excited to get a bull of this caliber off of a general any-bull unit. [cool]
Sorry about no photos with the full animal. My buddy and I both forgot to pack a camera. Photos were taken the next day when we went back in to pack out the cape and head.
Enjoy

Congrats that is a great bull. Not many November hunts in shirtsleeves.

Nice bull, were you hunting the Yellowstone drainage area when you took it? I'm guessing you must have been off the path a ways if you needed horses to get it out?

Thanks and yes I was off the beaten path in the Yellowstone drainage. A lot of beetle kill and dead fall in the area made it extremely difficult to get the bull out even with a horse.

That is an incredible bull. Now I am jealous, looks like I need to follow you around that mountain for next years hunt... That is two years in a row for you now isn't it? Nice JOB hookngrinin.

Thanks FOD, tlspyder and bowhunter.
Yes FOD it was my second year in a row. I had planned on not shooting one unless it was bigger than last year's or next to the road. He makes last years bull look like a baby. See attached photo comparing the two.
I took it to the taxidermist and it gross scored at 325" with 50" main beams and a 45" inside spread. It is going to make an awesome mount.

I could tell it was way nicer than the one you got last year. Good work buddy. [cool][
