We arrived late Saturday and fished close to Wildrose/hatchery and caught quite a few Cutts and a few nice sized Brookies. All on lures.
Sunday we fished the same areas and again we got into the Cutts pretty good with a few nice sized Brookies.

The Brookies had a bit better color this time but for the most part they were still kind of washed out.
The bigger ones had some decent color to them.

Monday we woke up to light snow/wind and decided the lake wasn't going to be an option. We drove over to the State Boat dock to see what it looked like.
We were all alone.

I haven't flyfished since I was a young kid for Bluegills so I broke out the flyrod to see if I could catch a few. My Wife had never flyfished.
It took us a few casts to get things dialed in then it was game on.

They were really biting good. The ate everything we threw to them. Some of them hit on the sink before I could stip almost taking the rod out of my hands.
In one span I caught 7 on 7 casts. It was pretty hot. I wished we would have taken more pictures but we were too busy fishing.

Two guys showed up and caught their two then left us all alone again. The wind picked up big time and it was snowing like crazy. It was a blizzard with waves pounding the lake.

Considering it was unsafe to be on the lake we found a nice spot all to ourselves. Sat and Sunday this spot was a zoo.
It was a great trip even though were were forced ashore on Monday.

Great report and fish! The cold weather at the last looks down right painful. So nice to have the area to yourself though.

Great report and even better that you can get your wife to get out with you. Looks like an awesome time!
Oh come on, that is all the same ONE AND ONLY fish in Henry's[laugh][laugh][laugh]

Nice job my friend... with that weather and the fly rod, you have officially earned a "TROUT BUM" title from me...Hard core!
Ready for Pyramid....LOL

Thanks Joni,
The bug has bitten me pretty bad. I wish I would have picked up the flyrod much sooner.
I just didn't want to give up but the weather finally beat us.

We are actually getting ready for Pyramid. I want to hook some of those Lahontan's.
I used to live there from 1992-1999 and fished the place quite a bit.

I was just at Pyramid last week. The water was still too warm and the fish were deep 60" in most places. I did get the occasional 21"-23" cut and one 10# (approx) lost at the boat (broke line... had tears in my eyes), but overall, it was slow all over the lake.
