ok what has been your favorite fish to catch?? [#000080]
I do love the salmon of Western Washington. I haven't fished the Snoqualmie River, but I have a lot of others. Now it is whatever the fish of the day is -- how much time I have and how far I want to travel. [/#000080]

[#000080]Again I have been around too long and can't really count. I grew up on the coast with ocean fishing. There you never know exactly what you will get! Some of the ugliest and strangest I never knew the names of. e) Most # fish caught in a day: I never count past 30

I must say way too many questions for one post, but I will play along.
ok what has been your favorite fish to catch?[#000080]
[/#000080]I love smallmouth.
your hardest fish to catch? When I say hardest I mean haveing a hard time finding and actually catching it...
[#0000bf]
[/#0000bf]Halibut over 100lbs
what is the easiest fish for you to catch?
bluegill
what has been the hardest fighting fish for you to catch?
Mahi Mahi, King Mackeral, Strugeon
what is the most amount of fish you have ever caught in one day of fishin ? [#0000bf]
[/#0000bf]I don't know, but I can say I caught 121 brookies in the same number of casts in the Windrivers.
how many different species?
I am more worried about my bucket list of fish that I want to catch. Like others have said, once you get a chance to fish the ocean the number of species can go up fast.
which kind of water do you prefer to fish rivers, creeks, resivoirs, or lakes or ponds? [#000080]
[/#000080]Anywhere remote. I love high mountain lakes and streams.
what kind of bait do you use most often?
I am not sure. I still ice fish a lot, but have taken up jig fishing for bass, and I ice fish with hardware.
what action of rod is your fave??
It all depends on what I am doing. I try to match the rod to the situation.
what type of reel do you use most often??
Probably fly. I only own a couple of expensive reels since my kids beat the heck out of them.
Windriver

I only fish for trout and salmon. Those 2 fish are what I like to fish for. So those are my hardest and easiest to catch. lol. .
I like to fish rivers but I know bigger fish are easier to get in a lake/reservoir and if its calm and cool, I prefer a lake over a river. My favorite place to fish was strawberry Reservoir in Utah. Im still trying to find a local place that has some big fish that is within an hours drive from Boise.
What do I use? Lures. Real bait kills more fish, so I stick with the continuous casting of the lure
[signature]
Lucky Peak and Arrowrock hold some nice trout and kokanee, and are not too far from Boise. If you don't mind driving an hour, CJ Strike is fishing well for trout right now.
The local ponds are stocked, but are pretty much put and take for 10" planters due to high fishing pressure and the fact that most of them get too warm for trout in the summer. The one exception might be the C&R, lure only trophy pond at Wilson Springs in Nampa, though I've heard the fish are regularly poached out.
As for my preferences:
Favorite fish to catch - Anything that's big enough to put up a good fight and smart enough to be choosy about what it eats. I get just as excited over a 10" bluegill or 14" perch as a 22" trout.
Hardest fish - Salmon.
Easiest fish - Hatchery trout. Seriously, they'll bite on anything that looks remotely edible.
Hardest fighting fish - King salmon.
Most fish in one day - I caught over 100 crappies one day last spring at CJ Strike. Kept about half. Went out and bought an electric fillet knife after that.
Different species - Freshwater: Bass (largmouth, smallmouth), bluegill, catfish (bullheads and channel cats), crappie (black, white), trout (cutthroat, rainbow), yellow perch. Saltwater: Halibut, lingcod, rockfish, salmon (kings, coho, pinks), surf perch.
Preferred water - Mid to large sized lakes and reservoirs.
Bait - Worms or a piece of cut bait.
Rod action - Moderate to fast. I like rods with some backbone.
Type of reel - I only use spinning gear.

Again... I have no idea, but I have caught several Muskies.

Favorite fish to catch: Probably smallmouth, but largemouth are close behind and a lot more common around here.
Hardest to catch: Large channel cats or walleye. I've caught some, but not consistently. I guess I just need to put more time into those species as I seldom target them specifically.
Easiest fish to catch: Probably bluegill or small largemouth
Hardest fighting: Bluefish
Most fish in a day: I think it was around 240 and then I got tired of catching them and did something else
I actually made a list a while back. Some of them are subspecies, hybrids or variations of a species, but I included them anyway. I had also added whether I caught them on flies, lures, or bait.

If I'm fishing for trout I overall fish creeks and small rivers the most. I probably fish for bass more than anything lately, so reservoirs are also a favorite.
As for baits, that really varies a lot. For stream trout I mostly fish a dry/dropper set up with something like a Turk's Tarantula on top, and a tungsten head dropper of some sort underneath. Trout in lakes, leech imitations. Bass: It varies greatly depending on conditions. I really like jerkbaits, lipless cranks, deep diving cranks, weightless plastics when they're up in cover, shakey heads and dropshots when they're deep and non aggressive. For pure fun though, nothing beats throwing poppers on the fly rod.
Rod action once again depends. I mostly use a 3/4wt for my stream fishing, 6wt for stillwater trout and smallmouth. 8wt for larger bass/musky. I really have a soft spot for throwing small hard baits for bass, so I use ultralight and light action spinning rods a lot. I use a medium light for a lot of shallower mid size hard baits as well as grubs, tubes, dropshots and shakey heads. My mediums get used for deep diving crankbaits, larger hardbaits, jigs, texas rigged plastics, fishing up in cover.
Reels, I have a baitcaster, but it seems like it's a lot harder to use out of a float tube, so I mostly use spinning and of course fly reels. I'm especially fond of Pflueger spinning reels.

hey this is coming along nice keep them coming it is very neat to see all of the posts and hey it gets you thinking when you fish so much you kind of forget about most of this as it has became a part of your every day life and then all of a sudden you have to think of it

Favorite fish to catch = Any fish that tugs on my line (I like to eat good red meated fish so thats a plus).
Hardest fish to catch = Probably Steelhead.
Easiest = Planter Rainbows (in a way thats all steelhead are [sly]).
Hardest fighting = I would say chrome sockeye (yep I think they fight harder than even steelhead, I've never caught a chrome steelhead tho).
Most amount = hard to say, I caught over 50 kings and chum salmon in one afternoon on the Nushigak river once, I also caught over a hundred rainbows on the snake in a couple hours. I usually get skunked tho.
Different Species = Nothing rare just all the standard fish we have around here and all the freshwater fish in Alaska.
Kind of water = Any
Bait = I probably use worms the most but I use everything.
Rod action = medium fast.
Reel = whatever is in my hands.
