It was mentioned that I don't post fishing reports on here enough, so I thought I'd post this one.

I went fishing today. I caught 4 and lost a big one (isn't that alwasy the case?).

i used bait. It wasn't your traditional cut bait. It was some super-secret cut bait fashioned a bit after the famous Tubedude recipe (See Cut Bait thread).

My catch:
apm
mike4cobra
FISHAMANIAC801
GEEZER

I'll keep them to use for bait.

The big one that I lost? I'm not positive, but I think it was a dude!

All kidding aside: Navajo should be frozen soon. The east and west ends were frozen last week. Fishing was fast and furious. The brook trout and splake tasted great after sitting in the Little Chief smoker for a few hours. Good times fellas. Good times.

[cool][#0000ff]Ha and ha. You do good work. And thanks for the fishing report...even though I am unlikely to take advantage of it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I agree with your comments in your "wrap-up" post on the other thread...the disassociated one. You and I have had our "moments" over the years but I think we have at least a bit of mutual respect. Always fun to engage you in a battle of wits...even if you are unarmed (Joke).[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I was still mildly enjoying the battle at the end of your line yesterday. They never miss an opportunity to get in their digs on the dude.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]May you winter well. I am sure we will cross keyboards again.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]BETTER TO HAVE SNARKED AND LOST THAN NEVER TO HAVE SNARKED AT ALL.[/#0000ff]

What no pics[frown] You know what they say its just a fishin story with no pics.[:p]

pics. I guess i just don't feel like I need to prove anything.

glad you brought that up. I actually thought about this a little bit. I had forgot my own camera on this trip. My brother had his. Had I taken my camera with me, would I have taken any pictures of the fish? I doubt it. Sure, fishing was good. The brook trout were very colorful. But, they were nothing I hadn't seen before. Just average brook trout that anybody else could have caught. If I would have had my camera, I probably would have taken pictures of the fresh snow, the blue sky, and the fallen leaves. None of those pics would have fit for a fishing forum.

For many anglers, a fishing trip is more about the report that gets posted after you return home. That's what's important. Heck, some guys post the report the second they get home. I guess you could say it's kind of a "hey, look at how great of an angler I am" kind of thing.

I got called out in another thread for not posting reports. Why is it that I post reports infrequently? Well, because I don't feel I need to. I feel there are enough reports already, and my reports are nothing any different that what others are doing. My reports are just another average report.

I'm not hiding anything. Heck, ask anyone that has ever emailed or pm'd me -- I share any information I have. I want others to have good outings, and I do whatever I can to help out another angler. I just don't do it unsolicited.

wow -- check out this post. You'd think it was the Dude typing, the way I'm rambling on, and on, and on....

If I do something unique, or out of the ordinary, I'll post some pics. Pics are fun. I like looking at pics. But when it's just the same old thing, it gets boring.

I had the urge to provide a brief summary of your post- as it was a little TDish in nature[laugh].
I'm with you on pictures- how many pictures can you take of fish that are a pound or 2 or even 5. I personally take a lot more of the scenary. I enjoy posts of the scenary especially fom southern Utah more than most fish pictures.
You know there might be big money if someone ever briefly summarized all TD's posts and put the cliffnotes up for sale.

I think the more reports the better.

Tag team, that's a good one Pat. Wasn't me or Joni that ruined anything. Funny how you can dish it out, but you can't take it. I guess because we're both members here, and once in a while post on the same thread, we must be joined at the hip- but to dispel the nasty rumor, no, we're not joined at the hip, no we don't tag team, and no we don't pick on you.

You can use me for bait all you want, but you definatly wont catch anything! Thats why I put a diclaimer at the begining of my post[Wink]. I was out of the loop for sure.

doh!!

Looks like one of those suckers is still flopping around in my bait cooler. I guess I should bonk it on the head....

.....or rather, let it keep flipping...

Mojo -- the Dude is untouchable. Haven't you noticed the way people bow to him around here? But, I have to hand it to him: he sure knows how to catch bait and trash fish. I'm still waiting for my signed copy of his book, but it hasn't showed up yet...
