New York, NY - Outdoor Life, The Source for Hunting and Fishing Adventure, announces the fourth annual "Outdoor Life 25," naming 25 people who have changed the face of hunting and fishing, in its December/January issue. The magazine profiles a selection of outdoors leaders, innovators, conservationists and unsung heroes who have had a major positive impact on the outdoor sports. Readers are encouraged to log on to OutdoorLife.com/OL25 to vote for the most deserving individual, who will be presented with the Readers' Choice Award. The December/January 2010 issue will hit newsstands on November 24.

"The Outdoor Life 25 is one of the highest honors our magazine bestows," said Todd Smith, Editor-in-Chief of Outdoor Life. "We look for people whose work has had a real and lasting effect on the outdoor community, and this year's list of honorees is an unbelievable example of the innovation, hard work, and good deeds that are taking place in the world of hunting and fishing. The contributions of this group are immeasurable and we're proud to honor their work."

Some of the familiar names making the list this year include Supreme Court Justices Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and Alito, for the court's recent landmark gun-rights victories, and Plaquemines Parish president Billy Nungesser, who has been a key figure in advocating for Louisiana fishermen in the wake of the BP oil spill. They are joined on the list by leaders in the outdoors community like calling great Will Primos, who turned a childhood love for making duck calls into the successful Primos Hunting Calls company, and Iver Mossberg, who produces quality guns at affordable prices. Conservationists like Rebecca Wooder, President of American Rivers, and Al Perkinson, V.P of Marketing for Costa del Mar, which forged an influential partnership with the Bonefish Tarpon Trust, are also on the list. For the complete list, including details, please visit OutdoorLife.com/OL25.

The Outdoor Life 25 honorees are grouped into four categories: Leaders, who by their individual efforts and sheer strength of will have had a strong impact on the hunting and fishing scene; Innovators, whose product breakthroughs make time spent in the outdoors more productive and enjoyable; Conservationists, who work to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the outdoors; and Unsung Heroes, who in quiet but important ways are doing great things for the outdoor sports. This marks the fourth year that Outdoor Life has compiled the Outdoor Life 25. Honorees were nominated by the magazine's staff, contributors, former honorees and readers, and selected by a panel of Outdoor Life editors. PreviousOutdoor Life 25 honorees include Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Montana Senator Jon Tester, rock and roll legend Ted Nugent and fishing icon Ray Scott.

"I hope these stories help inspire others," said Smith. "There are so many people who are making a difference in the hunting and fishing community, both globally and locally, and this list is all about celebrating them."

Outdoor Life readers will get the opportunity to weigh in on their top choice among the honorees, voting one of them the Readers' Choice Award Winner. Voting, available on Outdoor Life's website, will be open until Dec. 31. To vote for the Readers' Choice or nominate someone for next year's Outdoor Life 25, please visit OutdoorLife.com/OL25.
