Hey all I was up at Farmington pond yesturday and caught a nice catfish. Figuring it was the last for me this season I desided to make a dinner for my girlfriend and I.

Got it to my house and then I noticed what appeared to be dozens of anchor worms on her. I am a regular on East Canyon so I know what they look like but this fish had it far worse then any trout I have ever seen.

They were not just spots as they all were white and most were bleeding quite alot. So I was curious has anyone heard about anchor worms in the Urban Fishery in Farmington?

Pics show them well

Looks like leech scars to me but that poor fish must have been literally infested with them. Dunno how it survived if it in fact was leeches.

I don't know, but I wouldn't eat it!

Well Pound I do admit I must bow to your supperior knowledge of herpes... I kid I kid...

I went again today and caught three more one had the spots just as bad and two were perfectly clear of them.

I cooked the first one exactly as I do the others and it honestly made me gag and spit it out. Definitly if this is on your fish don't eat it... gross. Just release it or put it out of it's misory...

I wouldn't have taken a bite out of one of those nasty ones even on a dare.

You might consider asking the DWR about it, they might be able to give you some insight into what it is. I doubt it is anchor worms though, as far as I know, they only effect trout.
