Im not real sure how long it takes to make safe ice so am I just wasting my time thinking i will be able to ice fish it next weekend.

Just remember able to ice fish it and safe ice are two different things. There is no such thing as safe ice.
I think I will be there "ice fishing" if I have to sit in my pontoon in the slush to do it.[laugh]

Fearnofish1996 called Wild Rose yesterday and they said it froze over a day to two ago. With the additional cold weather coming, I predict it will be frozen for next week end.

Ya it did freeze over a couple days ago but the wind took all the ice off the lake. So hopefully next weekend all works out all we need is a good 2 inches. But it cant be much more of a zoo then opening day.

I'm afraid we are in that mode where everyone is keeping it mum when walkable ice is forming. Hopefully someone will let us know.

In all seriousness everyone be careful out there. I picked up a some safety spikes today just in case my life jacket and throw rope aren't enough at this time of year.

I took all next week off to shoot an elk. Well I shot my elk yesterday so now I have the whole week off with nothing planned. I hope it ices over so I don't go crazy Christmas shopping with my wife and mother in law all week. I might get desperate and paddle the float tube out there with Windriver. If it ices over are you going to have Turkey dinner on the ice again Windriver?

I got a call from a friend that tried to make it in off red rock rd by rv park....he slid off into a snow drift and never did make it to the lake and snowing too hard to see if it was icing over or not. I'll be chasing my elk too this week so hopefully tomorrow and then I can spend Tues/Wed in the slush with you two!- hopefully ON the ice instead!
