Had a good neighbor pick me up around 6 am and we headed for lost creek. Hit the water at 7 am and not even so much as breeze. The water was like glass and so quiet. We trolled out of the inlet and no hits. As we traveled up the main channel we started catching fish. I used my trusty jointed rapala...(brown trout) and had a brightly painted perch pattern on the down rigger at 40 ft. We traded off and on with other perch patterns and that seemed to be the ticket for the day...We were in around 50 feet and the fish were suspended in 35-40 feet. Water temp was 47 degrees. We ended up with around 12 fish, all nice and brightly colored rainbows from 12" to 18". It was a great day and our last until the ice comes.

[#000000]Nice report. Lost Creek is one that's on my list to try sometime. I'm curious about the trolling / downrigger part. What I've read about Lost Creek says it's non-motorized boats only. Has that changed?[/#000000]

do you mean wakeless?

For example, the Utah.com Lost Creek Reservoir site says, "Lost Creek is a 365-surface-acre reservoir popular for fishing. The park is 10 miles northeast of Croyden. Facilities include boat ramp and pit toilets. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake." I copied and pasted that. Not trying to make waves [Smile]. Just curious about that.

That is new to me. I use my Pontoon with a Minn Kota on it but I DIDN'T make it there this year.
I want to hear more on this also. I thought like Koch, wakeless only.
Operating a boat above a wakeless speed is prohibited on the following waters:
• Causey Reservoir (Weber County)
• Lost Creek (Morgan County)
• Smith and Morehouse (Summit County)
So, that must mean there is no restriction on speed at Porcupine[shocked].

You can use a motor, just has to wakeless. So a minn kota works great or we just used a trolling plate on our motor to slow us down. Hope that helps.

Lost creek is up weber canyon and you would want to take the Croyden exit. Then just follow the road until you see a sign that ways lost creek there you turn left and follow the lazy road to the dam. It takes another 30 minutes to get there do to the curvy road and slow driving.
