tried to launch the duck boat Turkey day to do some duck hunting. Both Lindon and Provo Harbors were iced over. no launch. don't know how thick. Too thick to launch.

[cool][#0000ff]Sounds like I'll have to bring a BIG auger if I wanna launch my float tube.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We will have to watch it. I have seen it freeze and thaw a couple of times in the past before it settled in with ice thick enough for serious drillin' and chillin'.[/#0000ff]

Fished Lindon last night for an hour about 5:30 - 6:30. Ice was only about an inch thick in spots I drilled. I don't think they have come in yet because I didn't even get a nibble.....HMMMMM? Maybe a couple days?

[cool][#0000ff]I'm guessing that you were fishing off the docks...with only an inch of ice. Sometimes the fish DO move in around the docks first, but they may be anywhere...shallow to deep...around the posts or in the open. Hard to know where to fish.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Generally the most wide open fishing happens when the ice is a little thicker and anglers can move around over the whole harbor to find the schools. Once you are "on them" you can load up. But, as we have all observed, being just a few feet away from the hot spot can mean you go fishless. I would bet there are a lot of fish inside already but just not the safe ice to allow looking for them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Hope nobody gets too impatient and joins the fishies under the ice.[/#0000ff]
