Got my usual early start this AM with plenty clothes in the 30*, at the ramp temp - 25* at home. Boat cover didn't want to come off it was so cold.<br />It was a slow day but although a little cold it was a beautiful day without the wind to overwork the trolling motor, emoThumbsup I fished deep structure, blow downs, bluffs, hidden brush piles, and tried to fish docks. I haven't looked to see what the spill rate was for the day but there was a LOT of current, :o Some places the water was very stained but the river was pretty good. Water temps ran from 49* > 53* The bite was interesting today. I only had one really hard hit and that was from a 14 & 1/2 inch Black Crappie. The rest were "just on there" until you set the hook then they didn't want go come to the boat, Wink but I only lost one good one that came unbuttoned about 4 or 5 feet from the boat, emoRedface (I did use the net today!) It took most of the day but ended up with 31 crappie and 4 yeller bass. Throw back rate was about 30% today, a little more than I've been seeing the last few trips. Looks like the water temps may drop some more according to the weather forecast for the next few days, teens at night, emoEek Best bait of the day was BG Cajun Cricket, emoSmile emoHungry Nooo, I didn't keep any, turned 'em all back so you could have a shot at chatchin' 'em, emoSmile If you go out wear plenty clothes and please keep your PFD on at all times during this cold water emoGeezer We don't want to loose anyone, emoSmile It will ruin your Christmas, emoGeezer
