The bite on Carters is fantastic right now for trophy fish. Water temps are finally below 60 and by the looks of the 10 day forecast, winter is here and in full swing.

My best baits this week have been Scroungers, Fish Head Spins, Drop Shots, Spoons, Jigs, Jerkbaits, and the Float N Fly. I've had some big spots again this week on the Jerkbait, FHS, and Float N Fly. Red Rooster Flies have been the ticket, 12-13ft Leader w/ 1/16 Red Rooster in "Carters Special" color. Robbie has the best hook in the business and has worked with me to get a couple of perfect colors for the lake. Bluffs and Channel Swings have been the best areas to get bit. The river is the place to be with the FNF and Jerkbait. Use you electronics and look for bait pushing into the creeks following the channel swings and you'll get bit.

The off-shore bite has slowed a bit as expected although there are a few areas remaining that have quality fish. Drop Shots, Jigs, and Shackey Heads have produced on the off-shore stuff this week. I've ran across a few schools of Hybrids with the spoon this week too, thanks to Rob Eidson for tipping me off on a good Line Side bite. He is absolutely killing the salty's on Carters and Allatoona as usual.

I have days open if anyone wants to get out next week to chase a trophy spot. It's the time of year to catch a 6+, I have a feeling I'm gonna see a 7lb spot this winter. The fish are feeding on big Alewive and will do nothing but put on weight all winter.

Sorry no pics, I'm having PC issues and will try to post a few later on.

LB
