They're killing the white bass right now at pretty much every boat harbor.

That subject/headline sort of scared me for a second.

There's been some insane posts on white bass at UL.

Talking - when the find the school, or the school finds the - non-stop, hitting anything that shines - not even bait.
Piles of hundreds of fish - literally.

It's be a drive for me, but dang - THAT's the kind of action that'd turn on my boy for sure! Just wish the ice'd get a bit more solid.

Thing I don't know - is this a short-lived thing at UL? Are then ON at first ice, then off later in the winter - or do they keep moving and devouring as they go?
They are usually intense right when it ices up, but after the "rush" of both people and white bass calms sown, you can still catch them consistantly thru the day, but usually not in the extreme #'s as before. The ice is if'y @ best now, should be better in a few weeks tho. The key is location. Most 100+ days for us we only spend maybe 1/2 hour catching a ton of them and the rest of the morning locating them.

Just read threw the 2011 fishing book of regulations. The deer creek white bass must be immediately killed so I guess their are whites up their

Yep they found them late this summer. Caught an adult male that was 12" and had more caught later on as well.

Also had some idiot plant mud catfish in there. [crazy]

pookiebar how do you know that more were caught later?
I know they were gill netting to see if they could find anymore and the word I got was they didn't but that doesn't mean their not there.

Whites were caught with regularity at Deer Creek this past summer. DWR got some and fisherman also. I caught a 15incher myself. If you have information on what putz put em there, it could be worth some bucks from the DWR. Personally I would fillet them for bait for the bullheads that some other putz put in there !!!
Read it in the KSL article regarding the problem. Article was back in Sept? Anyway, it said there were about a dozen caught and reported throughout the summer.

The mudcats were from a post on BFT. They caught a bunch in gill nets on one section of the lake.

I'd rather cut the putz up into little pieces and use him for bait. JK[crazy][mad]
