Finally made it out on the hardwater.Fished Willard north marina for about 2-1/2 hours. The ice was a little spooky so I stayed close enough to the docks so that if I fell in I could just grab ahold and pull myself up.Don't waste your time at Willard ,in the time I was there I only caught 1 fish.So save the rip-off 10$ day use fee towards gas to go somewhere more productive.I guess I keep going back to Willard because of childhood memories of 50 fish days.Man, I miss the good ole days.Oh well ,1 fish down and 7 to go on the contest.
My kids can't believe that I lived through the 70's without doing drugs.I was too busy huntin' and fishin'.
Lets keep our kids and grandkids "high" on the outdoors too , just maybe it will keep them out of trouble.
Hope to see ya out on the pond real soon ,happy fishing!

Fishing Willard in the winter sure can be tough but there are some big perch there. Thanks for getting out there and giving it a try. We checked it out yesterday and drilled a hole at the end of the boat docks that are on the South side of the North marina. Did you notice anyone else fishing there?
Here are a couple we caught last year at that same location.

Man Curt - those are some Chunkers! Looks like something Pat'd pull out of Starvation.
Really hoping another week'll get us some safer ice. Sounds like Hyrum and the Pig are still working on icing up.
So were you ON the ice or drilling from the dock?
I was standing on the ice, but I didn't dare venture more than about a foot away from the boat slips. There were two other guys out there ,but they had no bites.

I was thinking of trying willard this coming weekend, but with the warmer weather lately I am a little weary.
Got to get out on the ice sometime soon, haven't been able to fish for awhile now and like a junky I need a fix.[fishin]

We were drilling from the dock.
We also went to the south marina and backed down the ramp in a pickup truck, then onto the ice about four feet. We were surprised the ice held. We then walked to the dock and while standing on the dock, tried the "stomp on the ice trick", the ice gave away at that spot.[unimpressed]
