James has been working on a very used engine for my boat, and today we could get together and do the initial test of it. Very strong-running older Johnson 150, been tweaked to bump the horsepower a bit and gone over to bring everything up to date and ensure its health. Very, very nice - not pretty (but neither am I ) - but very strong.

The problem is that my boat, a 19-1/2 foot center console with a tunnel hull design, is really touchy on the set-up and we're going to have to adjust the engine height, try props, and maybe put a hydrofoil on it. Not a complete suprise as the old engine, a Honda 90, had some of the same issues.

As a part of the test, I took James out to the deserted fishing hole to teach him how I fish for cats. It was a VERY slow day with only two kitties wanting to play, both on my skipjack and totally ignoring wrechin2's offering. They weren't showing on the sonar, and the water was too fast to stay in the productive zones very long. James gets another trip as a do-over and this time I'll take hin to the REAL fishin' hole (once we get the the set-up figured out!) emoBig I really appreciate you, James!!!!!!!!!!
