Even though it was cold, Freida was up for an hour of fishing late this afternoon. All I can say is that I am glad that I went. I called DK to see if he was available at around 4:30 and he said that by the time he could get ready there wouldn't be any light left so it was just Freida and me. It was a bit annoying as there were two guys setting up nets almost totally cutting me off from getting my boat out from my dock. If anyone had run the creek if they had not known where they were they would have been into them as they weren't well marked. We hit only one spot and fished from 5pm until 5;55 and boated 24 crappie and one small stripe. Most of the fish were 12+ inches and all were let go to fight again. Most were from an 8-12 count and a little "palsy twitch" usually got them to bite. The fish were really thick and healthy. I used the same blue thunder BG shad that had the head bitten off the whole time I fished and it slid down about every second cast. My fingers were so cold I dared not try to put another trailer on that would have stayed on better. I never turned my temp gauge on, all I can tell you is that it was COLD! The tips of my gloves had crappie slime frozen to the ends of them. Still, a great short trip. Winter can be a lot of fun as the fish get stacked up pretty well and if you can find them when they are feeding you can really load up fast. No pics today, too cold, BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
